TURIA NATURAL PARK

TURIA NATURAL PARK

The Turia Natural Park, declared as such on 13th April, 2007, is located in the River Turia floodplain. Covering an area of 4,692 hectares, it spans the municipalities of Quart de Poblet, Manises, Paterna, Riba-roja de Turia, l’Eliana, Vilamarxant, Benaguasil, Llíria and Pedralba, representing a clear example of the scarce and valuable Mediterranean riparian forest associated with the River Turia. Moreover, the existence of Aleppo pine and Mediterranean scrub, with a good representation of the typical Valencian agricultural land, grants the area a considerable richness in terms of biodiversity and traditional values. It classification as a Natural Park has ensured the conservation of all these values within a highly-populated and -industrialized area. It is one of the last remaining forestry lungs in the metropolitan area of Valencia.

The Turia Natural Park Office is located in La Canyada.
